Arc of Triumph

 ARC OF TRIUMPH

Category: Project for Proposal

Location: National Art Gallery, Villa Borghese, Rome

Medium: Recycled paper tubes with metal screws and bars

Edition: Unique Edition in this size

Description: The installation project “Arc of Triumph” is a study for a public installation designed for the cities of Rome. The Arc is square-based, with a cellular structure created by linking recycled paper tubes with metal screws and bars. A fluid, curving, internal gesture creates a hollow cave within the installation’s modular and sustainable paper tube structure. The varying heights of the tubes modulate light and produce dynamic optical effects. The cave inside the arc includes a top Oculus, reminiscent of the Roman Pantheon.
